14-year old Elijah de la Motte is a cellist from San Diego and has been playing cello since he was two years old. He is one of nine children, and most of them perform together in a band of string instruments. Elijah was diagnosed with hearing loss in his left ear after birth and has fought many illnesses, but he doesn't let anything stand in his way. He is a fiery player and a true fighter knowing that "Without music, life would be a mistake."
